Inside Cavell Consulting: 2025’s Standout Projects Revealed

Cavell’s consulting practice saw a number of projects throughout 2025 with a wide and diverse range of topics covered. Across sectors and geographies, Cavell worked alongside service providers, technology vendors, and private equity firms to unlock growth, sharpen competitive differentiation, and navigate an increasingly complex cloud communications market. The case studies that follow offer a glimpse inside that work, showing some of the questions being asked, the market forces reshaping the industry, and the strategic shifts required to stay ahead.

New Product Strategy

Cavell supported a communications provider in shifting from a traditional product-led approach to a fully managed services model, built around Private LTE Networks. Through market research, customer insight analysis, and technical evaluation, Cavell identified adoption drivers in regulated sectors such as healthcare, utilities, and emergency services. The result was a phased, commercially viable roadmap to enable the client to capture higher margin recurring revenue and establish stronger differentiation.

Security Review

A large global service provider required an extensive security analysis to enable them to differentiate through a more modern, threat-aware security portfolio aligned to their customer needs. Using market data, customer surveys, and a workshop with the provider’s key leadership, Cavell mapped the rising fraud and cybersecurity threats, especially within the CCaaS landscape. Cavell also assessed the areas where their portfolio lacked advanced fraud detection, behavioural analytics, and API-level defences. This work helped the provider understand the scale of the opportunity in security and how to win trust in an increasingly AI-driven threat landscape.

Market Report for a Private Equity Firm

A private equity investor required deep analysis of the US and Western European UCaaS and CCaaS landscapes to inform a potential investment into a US-based provider. Cavell delivered proprietary forecasts, competitive mapping, and insight into how AIdriven automation, UC/CC convergence, and verticalisation are reshaping the market. These data-backed insights gave the firm a clear view of the opportunity within the business communications market and its long-term strategic value.

Strategic Hypothesis Review in Europe

A German provider asked Cavell to evaluate its market position and strategic options within the German cloud communications sector. Through detailed financial benchmarking, product portfolio review, competitive analysis, organisational assessment, and customer segmentation work, Cavell identified structural issues that limited the provider’s scalability. The resulting recommendations helped the customer understand how to simplify and standardise its business to maximise growth and investor appeal.

GTM & Product Assessment for M&A

Beech Tree engaged Cavell to assess ClearlyIP, a US based SMB provider with strong vertical traction in education. Cavell provided a comprehensive evaluation of ClearlyIP’s product portfolio, competitive environment, channel performance and position within the US SMB communications market. This analysis provided ClearlyIP with a sharpened understanding of where to focus product investments and how to strengthen its channel strategy. These insights helped to inform ClearlyIP and Fourteen IP’s decision to merge – creating a $50M group in October 2025.

Customer Interviews for M&A

Ahead of Focus Group’s acquisition of IT MSP Chalkline, Cavell conducted impartial customer interviews to evaluate customer satisfactions around Chalkline’s service quality, support responsiveness, product breadth, and evolving needs around cloud, security, and AI. This third-party assessment provided Focus with a clear, evidence-led understanding of Chalkline’s strengths and improvement areas, supporting their acquisition decision at the end of 2025.

New Product Strategy & Positioning

Alianza engaged Cavell to provide a critical review of its Intelligent Communications Fabric (ICF) proposition following their acquisition of Metaswitch in March 2025. Through detailed analysis, Cavell highlighted the key strengths and further recommendations to the proposition which enabled Alianza to strengthen its positioning and align it with market demand. Alianza introduced the ICF at Navigate 2025 as a new category launch within the communications space.
